Mr. Ahmed Ali Manik is a distinguished figure in the history of Scouting in the Maldives, widely respected for his leadership, vision, and lifelong dedication to youth development. Early Journey in Scouting

Mr. Manik began his Scouting journey in 1965 as a Scout at Majeediyya School, one of the most prominent centers of early Scouting in the Maldives. From his formative years, he demonstrated strong leadership qualities and a deep commitment to the core values of Scouting service, responsibility, environmental awareness, and community development.

Leadership and National Contributions

Following the formal establishment of the Scout Association of Maldives, Mr. Manik assumed a key leadership role in 1988 as the Treasurer of the Association. In this role, he played a vital part in strengthening financial governance, transparency, and organizational sustainability.

His exemplary service and leadership led to his appointment as Chief Commissioner of the Scout Association of Maldives, a role he held for a combined period of nine years across two terms. During his tenure, the Association experienced notable progress in structure, program quality, and national visibility.

Achievements and Institutional Growth

Under Mr. Manik’s leadership, the Scout Association of Maldives achieved significant national recognition, including:

  • National Award of Recognition for Public Service, awarded by the Government of Maldives for outstanding contributions to civic engagement and youth development.

  • Green Leaf Award, recognizing the Association’s strong commitment to environmental protection and sustainability initiatives.

His leadership helped position Scouting as a respected contributor to national development efforts.
